Hi

I was advised to try a salicylate free diet, but did not find that it made much difference. It was quite restrictive. Some of things like apples and grapes are some of the things you can eat on the diet, but they made me wheeze. I tried it for about 6 weeks and then stopped as symptoms didn't improve.

hi,

I was advised after skin prick testing to try the salicyate free diet (I also have a nut allergy and am NSAID sensitive.) I did give it a go for about 3 weeks and to be fair my asthma definately improved.

However I found the diet very very restrictive. I'm a student so don't have a lot of money. It also outlawed quite a few veggies/fruit which I found difficult. Being on pred on/off I have to keep a very close eye on my weight- I also salsa dance to a high level and being any more than a size 10 would be dance suicide.

So.......If the diet was a little easier (and to be honest I was a bit more motivated and less concerned about my weight....) i would probably do it,

Hope this helps,

SX
