Friend!! Need advice!

My friend has really mild asthma (she doesn't ever use an inhaler). I am more severe, but i find she pretends to have bad asthma when i do. (On a school trip I had an attack at night and then she pretended to be wheezing and coughing, which is not very helpful). She always asks to use my blue inhaler when i need it. What should I do???!

Well, start by telling her to use her own inhaler! Wouldn't be good for your inhaler to run out when you need it just because your friend has been using it.

If she's not carrying her own inhaler around, I assume it's because she knows she's well enough not to need it.

Sounds like someone I used to know who wanted attention basically so told everyone that she was asthmatic & did the same to me till I got wise to her! I went round to her house for dinner one night & had an attack (3 very hairy stinky dogs - all the sofas covered in fur etc). Her mum was petrified & didn't know what to do with me & told me she'd never known anyone with asthma before & apologised for not being much help. My friend had basically been saying she was asthmatic & using my inhaler because there was nothing wrong with her & had obviously never been prescribed her own one in the first place she just wanted the attention from the teachers.

Stupid girl - as if its something you want to have...! Maybe a day in the life of an asthmatic may make her feel differently & she might realise that actually having people stare at you when you're having an attack is not a great feeling at all - if you were not feeling so crap you'd be embarrassed!

I tell this friend of yours that she cant use your inhaler and to bring her own. I would also say to her that the reason why she cant use your inhaler is that its prescribed to you and only you can use it and if she is having these attacks then she should always have her own on her anyway.

The others are right about refusing to allow her to use your inhaler. you could explain some of the dangers for a person without asthma using an inhaler eg increased heart rate and blood pressure. This is why inhalers are prescribed and your doctor will have taken side effects into consideration. The point about you possibly runnung out is also important.
