Hiya, is it normal to get a sore throat after using this for a few days? Prescribed it on Wednesday so been using it for 4 1/2 days and I have an uncomfortable, not raging, sore throat.

Is this normal and can you prevent it?

Hi,

make sure you wash your mouth out after you use your inaler particularly the steriod one as this can help prevent irritations.

Hope this helps

Hiya, I use that inhaler too and also get a bit of a sore throat I normally have a hot drink or something when it gets a bit sore, but allow it to cool so its more warm rather than hot and it soothes it a bit. Also I spoke to my GP and she said how you take your inhaler can make your throat sore because the medicine sticks to your throat rather than going right down, she said to stand up when i take them and continue breathing in AFTER you push the canister down, which i wasnt doing and ive been ok since.

Thank you for the replies. I am now using an Able Spacer and this is much much better. Saw the asthma nurse on Friday and she confirmed my technique is now fine and the throat probs are now much better. I am using Eludril mouth wash given to me by the chemist too.

I guess it is a case of getting used to doing it all right and minimising the effects on the rest of the body.
