first welcome to the board, you will find it very useful as everyone is in the same boat, i am 18 and had it since i was a baby, you most proberly have the brown inhaler for preventer and you should be taking ventolin as a reliver as you use this when your struggling with breathing or have a attack as there are many things that can trigger a attack, i have always have both inhalers since i was young and if you struggle to use inhaler you can always use a spacer like i do, if you have asthma your entilted to get flu jab.

if you havent already you should go and see a asthma nurse who will check your asthma and see how your getting on with your meds and she will be happy to answer any questions, i see one every month and very helpful. hope this works if you need advice or have any questions just message me

Hi and welcome! I hope your preventer medication kicks in soon and you'll probably realise there's loads of symptoms that you just thought were normal but was actually Asthma, I found this for a while after.

This site is great for getting advice and having a natter with other people who know how you feel too.

Hi Krissy, Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear you have been diagnosed with asthma. The information on the Home page is really useful. I'm a little bit surprised you have a preventer but not a reliever, but maybe your GP doesnt think you need one. If your asthma is troublesome, you should go back to your GP. Good luck and don't be worried about questioning thing if you're not sure. xx
