My doc asthma nurse wants to try me on something new for my asthma, I'm seeing her on wed and was just after some information about theophyliline, what does it actually do? alot of people seem to take it here so I was just wondering if it was any good or not, also how do you take it and is it worth suggesting it to my asthma nurse?
Hiya, theophylline is common drug used in asthma, it has a dual effect of being an anti-inflamitory and a bronchodilator. You tend to start off on low dose and work up. Really they should have a blood test a couple days after any increase to make sure you are on the right dose. The most important thing is that if you get sickeness and blinding headaches you should check with your Dr before taking any more pills cos you can go ""toxic"". There are other threads on here about it have a scroll though.
