Dizzy

At various times this weekend I keep going dizzy, the dizzy spell lasts for about 10 minutes, the question I have is could this be due to my oxygen sats dropping or not or could it be related my pleurisy.

This post is certainly not for urgent medical advice, the question is being asked more out of curiousity that is all.

hmmm....

could be for a number of reasons hun..

certainly a combination of the two reasons you mention as pleuricy in itself can lead to drop in sats, as can asthma symptoms as you know, which can make you dizzy...

also... low blood pressure, diet, - are you eating enough? drinking well?

side effect of medication you are taking maybe? many other things too can make you dizzy...

if it continues discuss with GP, but hopefully should subside by itself with plenty of rest, and a good diet :)

but mention to GP in any case

Thanks Snowygirl, I will mention it to my GP.

Would echo what Snowygirl said. Also, is it when you stand up as some people have blood pressure drop then? Or less likely as intermittent but could be something like an inner ear problem? Hope it goes soon anyway

I got short dizzy spells for a long time, then followed immense dizzyness with the whole room spinning and terrible sickness when I tried to move, Dr spent ages trying to work it out as I had forgotten that it only happened when lying down, might sound silly but we all tend to forget little details when seeing the GP so I kept a record of each event and then showed it to her, straight away she saw the pattern and was later diagnosed with BPPV (BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO) which is where debris collects in the inner ear and when it moves is casuses problems that makes you dizzy but when lying instead of the usual standing, not saying thats what you have just that it might help to write everything down each time it happens, what youve just eatem, how you felt before, what you was just doing etc... for me after a long time suffering it was what made the diagnosis.

i was like this a couple of weeks ago had pneumonia/pleurisy and kept getting dizzy spells sometimes i could just be sat and the room would start to spin. I thought this could have been oxygen sats dropping so wemt to see gp, but she said it was more likely due to the side effects of all the different meds i was on. Was told just to take it easy and rest up.

Hope your feeling better soon and not in to much pain with the pleurisy.
