peak flow
People have different average readings depending on age and gender
This website lets you download a chart so you can work out what yours is:
Peak flow is a very individual thing; the charts give an idea of a good predicted value for you but do not tell the whole story.
It's worth pointing out that some people may never acheive the peak flow value predicted based on their age, sex and height, and this may still be perfectly normal for them and not necessarily suggestive of severe asthma. Alternatively, others may have quite severe asthma and still manage peak flows in excess of predicted when well.
If you are doing your peak flow regularly, you should get an idea of what's normal for you and when you need to worry. Peak flow should not be used in isolation to measure the severity of asthma or of an asthma attack, though, but should always be considered in the context of symptoms and other measures of severity.

PEAK FLOW RATES
My normal peak flow rate with controlled asthma is 300. Is this bad?
Peak flow is a very personal thing. I know people who don't have asthma who have a lower PF than me. I also have a friend who has always had asthma and doesn't even know what his PF is as he's always gone by his symptoms.
My best is 550, I'm usually around 480 both of which are well above my personal predicted of 437!
