I started montelukast recently, and it seems to have worked pretty well. It's not put me quite right, but a definite improvement on top of my seretide. I haven't noticed any real side effects either, which is a bonus!

Hope you get on ok with it!

Hi Ria,

You could try searching singulair and montelukast as there has been quite a bit on these topics at various points I think.

Personally I didn't get on with it.....some do and some don't!

Good luck - if u can't find the previous posts PM me and I'll try and dig them up for you.

I started singulair 2 and 1/2 months ago. At first I had side effects but they appear to have gone. Its great for controlling my asthma and since I have been taking it my asthma seems to be more controlled. I take it at night as used to have attacks in my sleep that I only knew about in the morning when I woke up feeling like my lungs had been battered. I dont have that anymore thanks to singulair so its a great bonus for me to have it :)

Hiya,

got put on montelukast 3 years ago after ending up in a&e after a bad pollen triggered asthma attack. I take it from march till October when my hayfever/asthma is worse, had no side effects at all. If I forget to take it on a nighttime I can tell the next day so it must be working for me.

Hope it works for you, too.

monteukat

i have taken this tablet at night for a while and i have no problems with it, i do notice when i havent taken the tablet has i feel quite sluggish

I've been on it for 9 months or so, and the benefits started to become apparent after the first few weeks, but it took several months to fully work, and was a god send, but beginning to wonder if it's still working, as it can become less effective after a while. No side effects apart from muscle cramps in the feet and lower legs, but they soon vanished and good luck, hope it works for you, else accolate is the alternative in it's class.
