What can be done to make them more bearable? I find that asthma can be troublesome at night when I want to sleep despite taking my meds. Does anyone know what methods can be deployed to aid sleep during the nights?
Thanks Gill

when i'm having bad asthma at night i sleep with a beanbag under my head so i am nearly upright!!! i find it helps if you sleep sitting up a bit.
Sleeping more upright can be helpful for me too. When I have trouble at night I also try really hard not to nap in the early evening - easier said than done when feeling whacked from working on limited sleep from the night or nights before. But worth trying to stick to your normal time for going to bed as if I do nap then wake it tends to be even harder to fall asleep again, making me more tired and stressed about being tired - so the cycle goes on! But if your waking frequently at night maybe an asthma review would be an idea to see if a change in meds would help.
Hoping you have sleep filled nights soon!

try putting something under your bed so your head is raised a bit.I have a fan to use and last resort after medication I put my mp3 on to help me relax.hope you find a way that helps you xxx
i have the whole of the bed trigged up at the head with a couple of blocks of wood, now have 3"" slope on the bed, been like that all year, helps most of the time.
If your asthma is dust mite related, have you tried encasement bedding. This might help.
For some odd reason i just cannot get to sleep at night and then i am really tired the next day and it is a big circle, but i am confused on the lack of sleeping, as i am tired...........
i usualy end up at the bottom of the bed so I wont have a wall behind my head for more air.have a hot choc before go bed and have my mobile handy with 4 gig full of songs and put my plugs in on low
hope that helps xxxx
Hi,
I am struggling with the sleep at the moment, seems to be a vicious circle...If I don't sleep I spend all day at work wanting to sleep and not concentrating, andby the time I get home I am over tired and can't sleep....
I have hot choc before bed and it don't work, I have tried loads of things but they don't work lol....
Hey have you tried chamomile tea? thats really good or bachs rescue remedy? you can get a night time version which has valerian in it which is a plant that helps you to sleep, kalms are the branded ones... altho if your allergic to anything check first!
