SPIRIVA INHALER

I have just been seen at the asthma clinic today and taken of my Ipratropriom inhaler and put on Spiriva. All the stuff on the internet says that it is not generally prescribed for asthma. Has anyone else been prescribed this and if so what have been the results / problems.

Thanks in advance

Hi

I have also been put on this (almost 2 months ago) and my consultant has said it is usually used in COPD but that I definitely don't have that.

I've found it fantastic to be honest with my asthma but it has given me reflux symptoms which I didn't have before and I plan to discuss with my GP. I also don't really like the dry powder inhaler but that's personal preference I think.

Hope you get on with it ok, feel free to PM me if you want.

spriva

i have been on it a year now like you was worried when i saw it was for copd saw a great change after 2weeks but the way my lungs are everything works for me for a while then its back to the drawing board , im still on it though 1

I have been on and off it for a while now. I have jsut recently been put back on it to try and relieve the night time problems I am having as it is meant to help with coughing and SOB. I am not really sure how it helps. It is a long acting inhaler.

I really dont know if it helps me or not as I am taking so much I kinda wonder what is working and what is not.

Hi

I've been on Spiriva for 2 years now and don't know whether it's made much of a difference as am on a lot of other medication too for difficult to control asthma. People with Bronchiectasis are often prescribed this too.
