Wow Kate, you seem to have a huge excess in pond life! I hope you are dumping them responsibly, in a contained area, would hate any to escape and start an epidemic !!!

Good luck with you offloading and may you be carrying a much lighter load soon

Kate, is this humane?

I will have to get on to the NSPCPL about your behaviour

(National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Pond Life)

PS My pond is still frozen anyway....

Tis perfectly humane!

Repository pond is fully equiped and is an optimum habitat for all known indigenous pond life - No cane toads, Red necked terrapins or other introduced invasive critters please!

Great Crested newts especially welcome and let me know asap if you have any pool frogs too!

Gribbitt!

Do not send here have just got rid of own. Plus have a cat with a frog fetish which she has taught to the kittens and they bring them in frequently and as pond frozen it is hard to put them back.

Den, Pop a pan with boiling water on the ice to melt it gentley then pop frogs back in - or pop them in some undergrowth at the back of the garden.

We had a daft enquiry at work yesterday....

"" We have a family of frogs in our garden - what shall we do with them?"" or along those lines ! LOL!

Gribbitttt!

Den, my cats often bring offerings of frogs usually and thankfully alive so we can return them to to the pond/garden. What is funnier is watching them try to find them after we have removed them. They spend hours sniffing around etc in am ""I sure I left a frog here just now"" way

Cool - Frogs!!

Have just inherited pond with new house.

Was convinced it was stagnent and dead, so started to empty some of the water out and replace with fresh, when a little 'froggie' head popped up to find out who was disturbing his home.

Am completly frog mad (although real live ones are new to me!!) hence my user name, and am really looking forward to life with frog at the end of the garden.

Any ideas how I tell male from female as I wouldn.t want to wrongly name my new friend.

Frogs

Hello Black frog,

regards your question about male & Female frogs

Difficult! Wait for a nice warm damp night and go and see whats going on in the pond! AND ....... If there is frog spawn in the morning - you have boys & girls!

(The vocal ones may be boys - lots of ribbitts!)
