I applied to join(if that is the correct term) Spotify a couple of months ago-they did state that there was a waiting list but didnt give any indication of how long so I was curious to find out how long anyone else may have had to wait.

i signed up ages ago, but not heard anything.
Its the free version that I ""signed up"" for,looking at their webby the other day it did not seem to be giving an option of waiting; it seems as if you have to have an invite from a member or pay shekels up front.
Its basically a big online jukebox Feejay but with no download facility at present.
I looked yesterday, and it appears that if you pay for one month, then cancel it reverts to the free version. now that's an idea !
