Christian Aid envelopes

Oh man, have just finished collecting the house to house Christian Aid envelopes in. Would you like to gift aid that 2p Madam? Am sure there must be an easier way to fund raise than this.... Think should just make a donation next year, at least I tried though and it all adds up I guess x

Collecting for a charity is always a challenge, what ever way you do it. I find taking part in a street collection (or within a store) very rewarding. I do several every year, recent being a wheezy fairy for AUK along with my four legged fairy Lottie Dog. We had a lot of fun. Good for you for giving your time to a deserving cause (For which they all are!)

Tend to donate to specific charities. Christian Aid - know the person that drops off the envelope and would feel bad if didn't put something in it.

Lois. In these tough times it's a wonder that anyone donates at all. Don't get disheartened. Every penny helps. If everyone in the country was able to give 2p then it would soon add up to a substantial amount. I donate whenever I can despite being financially challenged. Keep up the good work. Dave.

My mum has done Christian Aid envelopes for years and years. I remember her telling me ages ago a neighbour had a go at her and then put a penny in the envelope.

We don't get many charity envelopes now but street collectors all the time in our town. Always think people (like you Lois) are very good to give up their time to collect for charity.

I use to collect door to door, some people would be very rude to you others brought their pennie jars to the door. The most surprising thing was the poorer houses gave more than those than were wealthy.

It never stopped me going out each year.

Worst was empty sealed envelopes handed back with a smirk,

foreign coins, buttons............

Used to help Mum many years ago with CA envelopes.

Oh Kate. How horrible. Far better to hand back the open envelope to be used again. Some people are just too small-minded.
