Just recently discovered I'm allergic to strawberries which I'm still sulking about alot as I absolutely love them
Anyone else out there with a strawberry allergy mum assures me it's really common but I'm finding it a little difficult as a lot of things have strawberry in them ! What are the main things you avoid ?
Thanks xx

Not so much allergic to the strawberries but the salicylate content so all berries among other things are out of the question.... Also allergic to sulphites, latex (found in lots of food packaging) and mould related products... so diet is very restricted...
Allergic to some sort of berries [not sure which ones,, come up in an itchy blotchy rash after eating anything with mixed berries in :(],, annoys chest if I go near whichever sort they are.. Can't do thick yoghurts or chest tightens up,, starting to seem like any sort of yoghurts now though, which sucks.. Can't do milk on its own,, fine drinking it in coffee/tea/having it in food, icecream bugs it too. Bodies are strange things
Interesting I'm assuming it's just strawberries as I was covered in itches blotchy pat he's for a couple of days and it hAppened on a few occasions thinking back finally last week realised it was them when I started to wash and chop them and my hands where so bad an I was quite Ill afterwards because I was eating them whilst preparing until my hands flared up suprising what strawberry is in tho!
Emma with regards to milk and yoghurts they are all forms of dairy which I was. Told to avoid from a young age as dairy can increase the amount of phlegm on ur chest which therefore makes. Chest heavier and harder to breathe ect don't no to what extend this is true but this is what I've always been told hence I'm dairy free except the occasional piece of cheese on special occasions
My mum is allergic to strawberries and comes up in hives if she eats them.
As far as milk goes, I was told organic milk for some reason isn't as bad and the phlegm producing 'stuff' is not so apparent in organic produce! As you can tell, I'm not overly scientific, but always buy organic now for this reason.
I was told that too, apparently cows fed an organic diet produce milk with significantly less lactose and therefore has less of an effect on those intolerent to lacose. Unfortunately not a good enough solution to those simply allergic to milk products.
I have severe asthma already and lately found cows milk, strawberries and salted peanuts, and fish caused me to have severe allergic reactions that set of asthma. I am so use to these products in my diet that I couldn't believe it , but my asthma nurse told me categorically to avoid the above until new allergy tests done. Its not amusing to worry about food as well.
