I have two sons aged 5 and 9 who both have asthma. My eldest is generally well controlled and is my youngest. However? At the moment my youngest has a cough which sounds like he's constantly trying to 'clear' his throat, he also sounds like his nose is blocked and he's sniffing alot. He's sleeping well at night so this is only a problem during the day. His medication is Becotide 100, 1 puff BD and Salbutamol PRN. He is using his Salbutamol once a day. He's still as active as normal and runs around with his friends without needing his reliever.
We have a cat, which I'm thinking could be a problem but we have had her since June of this year and my son has only been like this in the last 2-3 weeks. Please can anyone advise?
hi and welcome. does your son suffer from hayfever or other allergies/ i find i still need to take my hayfever tablet and the symptons are made worse by the dry air heating system at work. just a thought as its only been the last 2 to 3 weeks with your son have you recently stuck the heating system on at home or maybe at his school? it could explain the symptons.
hope this helps

Hello Debi, thanks for your message.
Yes I have just put the heating on. I'm seeing our practice nurse next week for my sons booster jabs so I'll ask her about a hayfever tablet. Can you take hayfever meds whilst using inhalers?
