Well I took the advice of whywhy and Minnie and have been to get some supplements. I got a magnesium taurate supplement from Biocare and Menoforce Sage tablets. The lady in the shop is alternative medicine practitioner and asked me a lot of questions. She very quickly picked out these two supplements as she knew I needed something that worked fast. I've taken them and as she said I would, I already feel calmer, cooler and weirdly relaxed compared to a few hours ago. I react quickly to medicines/supplements so that's probably a factor but I honestly feel less shaky. Keep fingers crossed. Thank you to everyone who replied to my first post but especially whywhy and Minnie. Big hugs to you both xx

What I have discovered through trial and error is L-theanine tabs (Lamberts 200mg) work really fast but their effects can plateau. Bach rescue night time is great if you don't want alcohol taste as in the day time but the drops are a bit syrupy and made me feel a bit ick initially. Bach flower remedies are great for short term relief though I did have a mini bar with the number I had in my bag at uni. Plus because they're brandy based I spilt some on myself in the middle of a hot lecture theatre and the whiff of alcohol does carry in those situations!! Jane Stevenson at Creature Comforters is wonderful and literally an angel to me- she does flower based blends for animals and humans, but does custom blends according to your needs which she does discuss with you. Lovely woman with loads of experience in alternative therapies, and services very reasonably priced. Sun Essences -Vivien is the owner and she too is very experienced and very helpful plus her flower essences are good.Higher nature balance for nerves are great too, very effective- not noticed plateau effect. Kali phosphoricum 30C great little homeopathic pillules from Neal's Yard. Know homeopathy is said to be more placebo effect but even so found it worked and you take every 5 minutes until you feel calmer. The 6x version of kali phos is a tissue salt so you need less than the 30c and it works well too. Maybe all in my mind but am not knocking it if it works. St Jiohn's Wort is well named nature's prozac as my daughter said I wasn't with it when I was taking it. Plus sides are it does work fairly quickly but varies in effects from brand to brand which I found odd.The new supplement of Magnesium Taurate, knew about positve effects of magnesium but not about Taurine. Women especially don't produce enough because of hormones and although it can be found in red meat, a supplement can be beneficial. Taurine helps not only with heart health but stress, anxiety and depression.

These are a few of the things that I've found work to varying degrees and am new to trying out. I'm not saying they'll work for everyone but they are definitely worth looking at. Places like Neal's Yard Remedies are good- staff know their stuff. And the people I've mentioned like Jane Stevenson and Vivien from Creature Comforters and Sun Essences.Just be careful and always consult with someone about these remedies or others especially if you're on meds from your GP as they can interfere with them. My GP was the one who told me to look at alternative options as she didn't believe conventional options would suit me. Not all GPs are aware so going to people like NYR and seeking advice from them is important.Well I've gone on enough but hope this helps. And I am so grateful for this wonderful community on the forum, like a second family all supporting each other. You are all brilliant. Love and hugs to all. Julie xx
