Hi All.

Click DOCUMENTS. Click ME. Click OPEN. Read the page.

1. I'll never get over this it is too much.

2. Nobody loves me, my Partner/Boyfriend/Husband/Wife all are fed up with me.

3. Life is a misery.

4. There are times when I feel like 'opting out'. How long can I go on like this?

5. Therapies don't work. Tried them all!.

6. Medication makes me feel rotten.

7. Difficult to face the next day let alone the future.

8. Can't 'pull my socks up and snap out of it' as I have been told to.

9. Looking into the future frightens me.

10. Nobody to talk to who understands how I feel.

1. I WILL recover. Others have and it is possible. People on this site say so and they have all been there.

2. I am loved. I may not think so at the moment but someone, somewhere always loves me.

3. Life is only a misery if I make it so. Take heart, I will not always feel this way.

4. I cannot 'opt out' of life! But I can 'opt out' of the way I feel. More difficult but it can be done.

5. I know that some therapies work. I have not found the right one yet but I will persist.

6. Not all medications do. See my GP.

7. I CAN face the next day because there is always HOPE. "Hope springs eternal". I need to BELIEVE that.

8. Then I won't. They do not know what they are talking about. I must ignore them!

9. The future can hold no fear if I go about looking at it in the right way. The PRESENT needs dealing with first. My recovery starts NOW, not in the future.

10. Yes there is! I am doing it right now. I can talk to those on this site who UNDERSTAND how I feel. I AM NOT ALONE.

11. Horrible physical feelings will go when I feel better. They are part of nervous anxiety and are to be expected IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES. I will not die. I only THINK I will!

12. As long as it takes. Recovery is not easy; nobody says it is. BUT IT CAN BE DONE if I go about it in the right way.

Brilliant ........you're so right, the negative feelings are a symptom, we can't always trust our own negative feelings when we have anxiety/depression. It's like the whole world and life itself is working against us sometimes but we don't always realise that's how we are seeing it.

I am going to Delete them and bin them when they pop up just like the spam that they are........

in reply to Pennylayne

Hi. Peeylayne. Someone said, "Give me a candle that I may see my way into the future .And a voice said ' Stretch out your hand and put it in the hand of God, you will not need a candle'." Forget the religious connotations but have you not felt that there is SOMETHING that holds us up on dark days? Some indefinable 'something'. Love and blessings. jonathan.

in reply to Pennylayne

Hi. Pennylane. I think 'distorted' is the word. We see "Through a glass darkly". We moved recently and I changed my email address so my spam bin has been empty for some time. And it going to remain so I can assure you!! (And the spam mind bin).

Again, we must not trust our feelings because they are not sending us the right messages. We have to stop being subjective and start being objective. Step outside ourselves and say' would I have felt this; re-acted to this situation in this way; way when I was well'. The answer is, invariably, no. Love and Blessings. jonathan.

Hi. Mrs.Tatum. Down today, up tomorrow. It's like being on a roller coaster. A classic symptom of Anxiety. It will level out but it takes TIME. Don't despair. Easy to say not so easy to do. Our thoughts and Blessings are with you. Love. jonathan.

I will just pick up on point 2. One of the worst thoughts or affirmations you can have. In trying to get better I have, in addition to seeking therapy and taking meds, just been out and re-connected with people I haven't bothered with in a while because quite honestly I've felt my life too screwed. Lots of my anxiety stems from bad relationships and I've been able to communicate with people all of whom I consider to be having 'normal' ones. I know it's achievable for me to do the same. They have all let me know that they have appreciated my company or communication and I feel really boosted by that. I don't have to demean myself with bad situations or relationships because somewhere I feel I'm better than that and can work towards feeling normal like everyone else.

When you're that low and you have suicidal feelings you just feel 'everyone will cope'. They won't, you know that when you have positive moments. You will be missed, you've just convinced yourself that no-one likes you or think you are a loser etc. Thing is with anxiety, perception is distorted. While you may be right 10% of the time, is it worth creating the worst-case scenario for the 90%? It's something that I struggle with, but certainly meeting and seeing people will dispel a lot of the ideas you've created.

Hi. warren218. You are not 100% right you are 150% right. If I may say so what an excellent and encouraging blog. Communication is so important, that is why this site succeeds, we can communicate without fear or have the feeling of being judged. 'Perception is distorted' you say. Isn't it just! This is what makes it so difficult to cope with. We used not be like this and this is where Bewilderment rears it's ugly head. You are also very right about suicidal feelings. People do not always cope. They need immediate help, not tomorrow, NOW. Coming on this site could, literally, save a life.Thank you again for your input. Blessings. jonathan.
