hiya, i have also been doing cbt and ive had to go to the dentist alot recently as i had an absess then needed tooth out then got infected etc etc and i was still scared, even alot of people who dont suffer with anixety feel very anxious when going to the dentist, i talk myself through the situation so yeah i dont like being here, but there helping me, and alot of people dont like coming here but im in great hands.
cbt doesnt cure u its to help you control ur anxiety and sometimes it does get on top of us which feels abit disapointing doesnt it, but remember thats normal. x
Hi there - have you thought of asking your dr for beta-blockers? They're not tranquilisers/anit-depressants, but they do block the "fight-flight" reaction and doctors seem happier about prescribing them - provided you haven't got asthma - than other stuff like diazepam. Just a thought.
