Bowel screening

Hi had too send my sample away for bowel screening 3 days ago since then had sore stomach and loose stools this ever happened too anyone

Hi Gleddoch - I am just wondering why you had to send a stool sample for screening and what part of the world you are writing from - is it because you have had bowel problems? or is it like us in the UK - who have been having regular screening for preventative reasons since our mid 50's? Either way, there is no real reason why you should have sore stomach and loose stools, since the test is non-invasive. I would suggest what you are suffering from is a case of nerves - the 'not knowing' if the test is okay - or not. It could even be something you have eaten or drunk - especially as we are just over the 'festive season.' Try not to worry! If the test does come back with a question mark - maybe a bit of blood in your pooh, you will be invited to have a cystoscopy - which is nothing to worry about. I shall be 75 in 4 days time and have been having these samples checked every 2 years since I was 55, I did have a 'virtual cystoscopy 4 months ago, and can give you a real belly laugh about how that went.

Anxiety will give you loose stools, I dont pay attention to it anymore .
