Sleepless nights

anyone ever stress so bad to where you literally can’t sleep? You don’t know whether to cry, scream, or cuss?? 2:00am and I am wide awake... my mind is going a 100mph and I can’t seem to slow it down... just when I start to think I’m getting sleepy, something else pops in my head and I start worrying/stressing even more... sometimes I wish I knew what it felt like to be normal..... I feel so lost.... I am mentally and physically exhausted to the point of no return

Try an occasional sleeping pill. Make sure it is only Occasional ie. once every 10 days or so. These are only available by prescription.. Also, you might try getting up earlier. Then there is a white noise machine, plus the usually recommended soothing pre bed rituals. If these don't help, see a sleep doctor.

I have a suggestion it's called ASMR. Search for it on YouTube. It brings my stress right down. With ASMR you are literally watching quiet videos. Try it and if you have any ASMR questions, let me know😉

I will definitely give it a try!! Thank you!

I like Rach113 asmr because her voice is soft and gentle. Rach113 does role plays as if you are a client in a salon. Tony Bomboni asmr is another favorite because of his quiet voice...

That was one of my first major symptoms when I came down with severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Mind 'grinding' 24/7 ... no sleep. Thinking about death ... me dying ... family dying .... other kinds of strange things.

Here's what I did. Got the white noise machine. Blacked out windows. Got Glenn Harrold's CD's .... first one called COMPLETE RELAXATION. Listened to it every day with headphones laying down.

Drank calming herbal teas during daytime ... like chamomile. An Hour before bed, I took one Valerian capsule. If that didn't work, I took 3mg of Melatonin instead. If that didn't do it .... I took them both.

I started to jettison from my life anything that distressed me or raised my adrenaline. No coffee, chocolate, caffeine or stimulating food. No sugar. No fast food. No soda pop. No alcohol. No TV news. NO phone in hand constantly.

Get a relaxing hobby that you enjoy. Bring down the stress in your life .... as much as possible.

Exercise every day .... even if it's only going for a brisk walk. Try to build up to an hour 1/2 a day. Don't eat or drink 3 to 4 hours before bed.

Take magnesium supplement twice a day ....... perhaps 200mg or so each time. It will calm you and erase muscle tension.

It won't work instantly, but if you do these things within a week or so you should be getting some rest. Then .... you can study some books about anxiety. The knowledge really helped me to defeat it naturally.

I can completely relate to your post! I have struggled with this for years. One thing that I have found that seems to work really well is audio books. Of course it can't be anything too exciting, but it seems to take my mind off all the chaos of the day and just let me relax. Hope this helps, prayers that you can get the rest you need!

Aren't they a great distraction and so enjoyable.

I haven't listened to one in a while, this was a reminder in what I'm missing :)

Thanks to chaoticjoy3, this may open up a door to others as well. :) xx
