So I just got my A1C results back and it was 6.7. My doctor says that means it's not out of control yet but it is in the diabetes range. I am terrified. I also have high cholesterol (just barely in the high range). All other test results were normal ranges. I've always worried about my health but have never actually been diagnosed with something like this. How do you separate realistic worries about a diagnosis from irrational health anxiety? I was also told to stop my birth control as it is giving me migraines, and I just got my period and feel sick from that, so I can't stop worrying. Please, anyone here with Type 2 diabetes or some other disease have any advice or reassurance? I have a follow up appointment with my dr in 2 days but I need to somehow calm down in the meantime.

We obviously can’t give medical advice but as a pre diabetic myself I can tell you that you can still live a normal life with diabetes. Just watch what you eat and remember moderation. It’s really not that scary once you learn how and what to eat.
