Hello everyone. I suffer from extreme anxiety. I have it when I'm sleeping, when I awake, when I'm alone in the comfort of my own home. It's a huge reason I can't function. I was on anti anxiety meds for years and it helped but somehow my body changed and I can't handle it anymore so I'm off it. If I'm busy with art or staring at the night sky taking to Caseopiea I'm ok. My first panic attack was kindergarten and I've been in therapy, etc since. I don't understand. Does my past haunt me subconsciously?

Hi, that sounds super stressful and I’m also somebody so sorry that nobody got back to you more quickly with at least one reply. That drives me nuts. From a scientific standpoint absolutely our pasts will haunt us until we deal with them. Usually that is through therapy and not just medication. I say that from an educational standpoint and also my own experience. I’ve been on a great medication regimen for PTSD, bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and ADHD for about 10 years. That being said it’s the only thing I ever did for any of those problems. I never went to therapy I never spoke to anybody, I kept everything to myself. My anxiety now has improved because I played my own therapist for a while however when it is there it is unbearable and I do things that get me into trouble because I can’t think straight. The problem about our own advice is that it’s pretty hard to take it, and this is why we cannot be our own therapists. If you are financially stable enough to get a therapist, I suggest you do So as soon as possible. However if financial is a problem for you right now there are zoom support groups for mental illness and other things like that that you can just Google zoom meetings for mental illness or mental health and you will get a huge list of live virtual meetings that may provide you with a ton of relief. They aren’t run necessarily by medical professionals but it is other people in the flash sharing what you’re going through. I think joining this site is also great because it’s just a lot of people who are going through what you’re going through giving you answers based on their own experiences and giving you support and that’s really the most important thing is being validated. I have found that being validated has made me a better person and it has helped my anxiety a lot. I hope that you find something to help your anxiety a lot too because I know that it’s not Some thing we ask for or choose and yet we become a victim of it anyway. It’s not fair and you don’t deserve it, but you absolutely are not alone. We are here for you. Please forgive my typos
