Just overwhelmed and feeling anxious

Hi guys I’ve been doing much better but lately a lot of young people where I’m from in Philadelphia has been getting shot and killed lately two boys I know one was 18 and one was 19 was killed and it’s giving me really bad anxiety and I’m just very scared because I keep thinking something will happen to me and I wanna live my whole life I’m terrified sometimes this keeps me up any suggestions??

So sorry for your losses. This world's ills can get to us sometimes. But life is beautiful and purposeful. Be aware of your surroundings and maybe carry pepper spray to protect yourself. Or perhaps a self-defense class to bolster your confidence. Try to focus on the good in the world, grieve the losses and do what you can to share your unique gifts and talents to create more positivity. It's okay to seek counseling as well if talking through things is helpful. Prayers for peace and strength.
