Excepting anxiety
I believe that accepting anxiety is a key step in the mental process of recovery. Acceptance allows you to deal honestly with yourself, and be real with your life. Acceptance by itself won’t help a whole lot, but it’s a step in the right direction
As you move forward with your life, be mindful of your thoughts and emotions, watching for anything you can do to make progress in your recovery
I hope that helps, I wish you the best!
hello Moggie, I can relate to your dilemma about acceptance. When I was recovering from anxiety /panic I started to understand and believe in acceptance as the path to healing but continued having anxiety. What I was really doing was using "acceptance" as another tool like deep breathing to make the anxiety lessen and go away. What I realized is that there is active acceptance, which is what I was doing and passive acceptance. Passive acceptance is where you don't care if the anxiety is present or not and no longer fear it at all. One of the tricks I use to do was even encourage it and try to make it stronger, and repeating this until eventually becoming desensitized to it.
