Hi everyone,
Sorry if this is long winded but just hoping someone has some experience with liver cirrhosis on here. I have been a chronic binge drinker(2-5 bottles of wine a week or more depending on the occasion) for about 12 years who has recently quit. I am concerned I may have liver damage but my doc isn’t taking me seriously. I have a dull ache in my right upper quadrant that comes and goes, frequent itchy skin, red blotchy palms, fatigue, frequent nausea. My lft’s all came back normal but my alt to ast ratio was 1.8 and anything above 1 apparently means liver cirrhosis(She said there was nothing to be concerned about). My abdominal ultrasound came back with a liver hemangioma, a gallbladder polyp and my liver measured 14.5cm which according to her is also a normal size although research has shown it is not. Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen to them and it not turn out to be cirrhosis or if I should be worried. Thank you!
