I'm new to this community, and I've really appreciated it so far. It shocks me how much it helps my anxiety to read other people's thoughts and concerns that struggle with the same things I do. Many of you struggle much more than I do with anxiety and it really puts things into perspective for me. I value that.
If you haven't already, look through the posts and read what people are saying. Its helps me a lot.
hi and a warm welcome to you yeah reading other posts does make us sit back and think a little but it doesn`t deflect from our own personal situation but reading posts does help.
I often turn to these posts either when my anxiety is through the roof or when I identify with a title that someone has given their post. When I am super anxious I find that replying to someone else's post helps to reset my own thinking about my particular situation into a more balanced perspective. It's so easy to identify irrational thinking in others and come up with an alternative, more rational conclusion about their situation but not so much in our own. Thus, replying to others in this forum has become one of the strategies in my toolbox for dealing with my own anxiety. Not to mention I also get great satisfaction out of helping others and hope that at least one of my replies has made a difference for someone 🙂
