Mirtazapine- anyone OK on 7.5mg per day??

Hi

been on this 5 weeks

Im finding 15mg very stimulating and ramping up my anxiety, yesterday had shaking knees pretty much all day

My depression is lifting (for me it's largely based on how I feel, If im suffering lots of side effects or increases in anxiety it just worsens my depression)

Just wondered if anyone is OK on 1/2 a tablet- my psych is against it as reckons its only placebo at that dose

I take 2 30mg at bedtime and have no problems with it. In the past I have taken half pills with no problems. I don’t remember the dosage I took half off. It helps me sleep a lot.

I was on 15mg for a week before 30 it made me really crazy anxious, I jumped at any noise like a lighting bolt or electric shock going from my hand all the way up through my arm to my heart. It made me sooooo much worse I was 10x more suicidle then normal (but this is only me I was on it for 8 weeks) the jumpyness and agitation stopped after a week or two and then I had about a week where it was all great but it went down hill from there for me.

If he’s against it don’t do it but at the same time 7.5 would be your choice. Ask for him to put you on another type there are about 20 different AD (Ssri’s, tris)

At the end of the day it’s your body if you feel it’s doing more halm go to 7.5 for a couple weeks and come off it I care off mine pretty quick from only a week on 15 from my 30.

I was on Mirtazapine, don't remember how much? My doctor took me off it because it was making me gain weight. It did work for me though at it's lowest dosage. You should speak to your doctor.

Hi, I started off on 7.5 of mirtazapine which was fine for quite a while, but I started having panic attacks again & not been able to sleep, so my gp has increased my dose to 15 now....which I think is the maintenance dose.

I’m on 15mg, been on it at 5 weeks and still don’t feel any better anxiety wise, I’ve been getting a lot of nausea as well and headaches, can anyone else relate to this, I’ve also only put on 3 lb, I’ve lost a lot of weight and was hoping mirt would make me put on some, should I give it a few more weeks? I’m seeing my gp in the next few days

I feel for you, I too dont feel too good on it, its nearly 6 weeks now, have gained weight though, yes it seems to give me headaches, blurred vision, increased anxiety, night terror, night sweats, terrible shaking. Not sure why I'm still on it really. I wish you well in your journey.
