Fluoxetine increased

Hey.

So been on 10mg of fluoxetine for 9 days then they where increased to 20mg yesterday. All my side effects are back sore head shacking dizzy sweating fast/more noticeably heartrate anxiety heightened feel like I was turning a corna then boom it's all back why do they change it when it was working?

When I was on them in the past I was on 20mg then increased to 40mg but can never remember getting side effects.

Hoping they will pass like they did before.

Hi Antonia I'm right behind u at my 6th day on fluroxetine 😊 I too took this med once before while I was pregnant with my last son, and I dont remember feeling any side effects. This time around however. I've experienced some agitation. I'm grinding my teeth, but I honestly was so anxious before I started taking these pills that i dont know if it's just my anxiety or if it's a side effect. I also sometimes feel as though I'm not breathing right🤷🏽‍♀️ then again, it could be my anxiety that got me to going back on this pill after 7 years of feeling pretty good. Anyways. I've been reading your last few posts to see how u are doing with this pill, and hoping that it completely works for u. My doctor is planning on upping my dose in another week cause she says 10mg isnt enough to get the full benefit of this drug. I just wanna wake up tomorrow and be myself again.

Thank you for your reply. Am maybe thinking the side effects your having are a bit of both?. I take mine at 8am every morning so am a hr in now and i feel ok to day house work done so fingers crossed it stays this way I do sometimes think are the side effects worth it but like you I was really anxious before I started back on fluoxetine and it can only get better as they say.

Hey, yeah a return of the side effects is normal with an early bump in dose. Usually it’s shorter than the first doses time period of side effects. I think the longer your body is on the drug the less harshly the side effects are each time you increase. So if you go up again in a month or two you’ll feel an even lighter version of what you first felt.

I’ve been on Prozac a number of times, each time I feel the side effects a little differently. Last time I had to go to the bathroom a lot, this time not at all! Also it sometimes is the version of generic that you’re taking, a lot of what causes the non anxiety side effects are caused by whatever the drug company uses to get the drug through your system. I’ve had experiences where I’ve been on a drug a while then the pharmacy changes a supplier and suddenly I get side effects.

Thank you for your reply and I think you are on point with the diffrent supplier part I have been say this for a while about a diffrent medication and was told it dose not effect the use off the medication and it does. Fluoxetine one is same one So far but it will change supplier as well as I am on 2x 10mg in the morning and they are changing it to the 20mg tablet that's fine but I hope I don't get more side effects as it will be a diffrent make/supplier. Bit I hold on to the hope thst it will all settle down soon as am only on day 14 so it needs tome for my body to adjust and I think ots doing well so far 👍🏻..
