Yea I’m scared

This sounds a bit like pressure in the ear drum from inflammation after a cold, or whilst travelling in an aircraft when the pressure is too high in the aircraft. It may help to reduce the amount of cows, milk and dairy in your diet as this can cause sinus and ear congestion with excess mucus. I had tinnitus quite badly for over five years. A quick answer for me if it starts in one ear, is to put my finger into the ear hole and pull down near the ridge of the cartilage in the ear, This can sometimes stop the popping. Another reason for this might be to do with your drugs which an sometimes give tinnitus. If you look up the name of your drug on drugs.com you can read the side effects of the drug, which may have die effects of tinnitus. If it indicates this side effect, then ask your doctor for another drug.

You can download a patient leaflet on the drug eg type in name of drug and add patient leaflet. A help for the inflammation might be helped by an anti histamine medication for hay fever recommended by your pharmacist. Something like Sudafed might help. The pharmacist can check interactions with any antihistamine such as drowsiness. Drugs.com will give you personal information on taking drugs together. Glad to say since going lactase free and cutting down on cheese, tinnitus and ear pressure is better.

I hope the problem can get solved because I’m scared

Am sure the problem will resolve if you can find out if you have ear pressure problems.

Is this happening in both ears, and has it occurred since taking medication? How long have you had these symptoms?

Taking a paracetamol may help to calm down your ears.

Conscious breathing exercises may help anxiety which is making your symptoms worse.

When your breathing is slowed down it helps the vagus nerve to help anxiety.

Breathe in through your nose with your mouth shut. The breathe out with a prolonged exhale making an aah sound. Do this so you are taking 5-7 breaths in a minute instead of the normal 10-14 breaths.

I found taking magnesium carbonate in an indigestion remedy helpful from the chemist. I took about 340mg of magnesium, and the tinnitus was better after several days. Some drugs such as Sertraline and Ventraflaxin may have side effects and some like Sertraline can take up to 3 weeks to work or more which is disheartening if you are getting feelings of suicidal depression. Valium is may be helpful for anxiety and may be you should go back to the doctor, as the side effects might be part of the tinnitus problem. Thinking of you. Take care.

Yes get it when driving in hills - suddenly ears pooped and sometimes cannot hear for a few seconds. It can come on with hay fever as well - I take daily antihistamine but somehow too much dairy will set off the congestion in my ears and sinuses..

I have found taking magnesium carbonate helpful so may be a deficiency of magnesium might affect the nerves with swelling. A recommendation from thyroidunlocked.co uk in a post written by Heloise, on Tinnitus gave information from respondents who gave information on what had helped them.

I have hay fever today, and have drunk some lactase free dairy - since yesterday when my ears had been clear for months I am in the same boat as you with tinnitus!

Taking an antihistamine could help your symptoms, recommended by your chemist

as you might be on some medication. You could phone your chemist to ask if anything you are taking might be causing the tinnitus too.
