There is hope

For the past two months I have been dealing with a litany of symptoms due to my health anxiety -

-Severe Dizziness

-Weak arms and hands

-Tingling feet and hands

-Twitching muscles

-Headache

-Swaying while standing

I started medication 3 weeks ago and just started seeing a psychiatrist. It helps! I thought for the longest time that I had cancer or some sort of neurological disease(MS ALS etc) and the thought of not being able to take care of my family put me down a dark path of anxiety. Though I still see lighter versions of my symptoms I do feel that with the combination of counseling and medication you can start your path to recovery. Talking about how you feel and knowing there is someone out there that understands is also a great help. This community has helped me immensely just knowing I am not alone.

I could have written that post myself. Except I don't see the gp to beg for help until next week. Currently half convinced that I've got MS and half convinced it's being caused by anxiety. When I am busy or at work I feel fine. Symptoms much worse when I am not occupied and mind is running free. I'm so glad you are feeling better. What medication did your go prescribe?

Fluoxetine (Prozac) and hydroxizine.

I've been dealing with the same symptoms for months...

Just want to say , I'm glad your finding relief...

I walk around half out if my mind with worry and fear of what it could be.

I've tried several ssri medications and had bad reactions...

I hope you continue to do better.

I’ve been experiencing similar and sometimes my legs are so weak I can barely walk - I panic there’s something seriously wrong. Can anxiety cause this?!

Congratulations on feeling and having relief with your anxiety. I know for me I have been reluctant to solemnly give meds a try. Basically trust issues with meds and being simply afraid. I tried meds once for 45 days and quit. But you have given yourself a fair chance to recover by atleast doing that much. I have however, been to CBT and it does help a bit. I'm not seeing a therapist at the moment but I know if I needed to right now I would not have an issue seeing one again. I've have the same same and more with anxiety and health anxiety keeps me constantly worried I have a sinister illness.

I have a YouTube channel that I now talk about my journey with anxiety and my fears to share with those who just want to know they are not alone. You may check me out if you'd like. 😊 I've been on this forum since 2016 so I'm not a stranger on here.

I wish us the best.
