Hi everyone. I’m feeling stuck and it’s been a loop everyday. I’m 20 years old i don’t go to school and i lost my job from feeling this way and anxiety. Everyday i am fatigued, it’s hard to even get in the shower anymore and get ready to go out anymore. My eyes always feel strained and i always have heart palpitations, brain foggyness, i just have 0 energy for anything and i just feel tired and depressed everyday now. I am taking 5mg of buspirone for my anxiety for about 2-3 weeks but no difference yet that i can see.. all my blood tests are normal and im not sure if its just all adrenal fatigue everyday but it’s really making me depressed feeling this way and not sure how much more i can take. Does anyone have any tips or any thoughts? Please let me know thank you!

Hello,

Please be patient with your meds. It might take time for them to work. If after 4 weeks you don’t feel any improvements then you should talk to your doctor to change either dosage or medication. I’m taking SSRI’s and Xanax and found it really helpful.

Regarding your anxiety, I know how you feel. I’m 21 and I was housebound for a month. But then I started medications and when they kicked in, I was able to go out and have coffee with friends. It would always be some place where there aren’t many people and that I feel safe in, but still everything counts as a progress. Believe in yourself and believe in progress. I know it is easier said than done, but you will start to feel better soon. ❤️

Hi SinisterK

18 months ago I was feeling the same way. After being a relatively relaxed optimistic person I felt horrendous all the time and found it difficult to leave the house due to anxiety.

Antidepressants, in my case Velafaxine, made a huge difference. I began to have the odd day feeling well after about 3 or 4 weeks. At first I felt far worse so you have to get through that difficult period which you may have already got through. I felt so much better after around 4 months and was virtually back to normal after 6 months. From not being able to leave the house, after 14 months I did a long haul flight with holiday in Sri Lanka which involved camping and safaris in the dry forest and trekking in the cloud forest. Made some amazing new friends and had a brilliant time.

Even now I still have some minor symptoms, particularly in the mornings but overall I'm better than I have ever been.

You will get there but as masa said you need to be patient and stick to your meds. You may need to up the dose or change to another if you do not get enough progress in another month.

The other really important thing is to try not to be afraid of your condition, it will pass, you will have good and bad days, particularly for the first few months. Acceptance and carrying on with life is really important, gradually doing more and more challenging things but not beating yourself up when you do find it too difficult will get you there supported by meds.

Very best wishes to you and everyone in the same boat.

Kim

You might need to give your medicine more time to work because its not in your system good enough yet. But after a while you should feel some type of spark in your life and if you don't please go back to the doctor and see what else do they recommend for you.i don't suffer with it but I sometimes get anxiety but im not taking any medication because I have several asthma and my doctor say he wants me try control it under they get my asthma under better control

I am so sorry that you are dealing with this. This is such a difficult thing to deal with. It is good that you are getting to take some meds to see if they will help you. Give those time and if you do not see any changes in the future, tell your doctor so they can try something else! Have you tried talking with someone you trust about the way you are feeling? It is always good to be able to let all of your feelings out to someone who cares about you. I hope everything gets better.
