Why is anxiety so complicated? Why is it that simple things like lying down to relax become complicated tasks?

When easy tasks become hard
Actually Dnel82, anxiety isn't really that complicated. We make it so by putting up our fists and wanting to fight it, to beat it to a pulp. In doing that, we conjure up more adrenaline which then raises our fears and the fear of fear cycle is complete.
When lying down or relaxing, our subconscious mind is still rehashing the "what ifs" of anxiety. Our nervous system is still over sensitized making even relaxing a difficult task.
Once you dissect anxiety and understand how it over takes us, it becomes easier to accept it as not harmful. We need to practice relaxation daily so that when the time comes that
our bodies overreact to any stimulation, we automatically are prepared to let it go, let it be. We have the power not anxiety. x
Lol this i know. On paper it looks easy and in theory it'll work. The execution on the other hand is a different story.
It's confusing as hell! The worst my anxiety ever was is when I couldn't relax or fall asleep because of it. I can share some ways I've improved. After seeing many doctors I had the proof my symptoms aren't life threatening and I'm healthy. Use these check ups as reminders to yourself. Remind yourself how long you've been alive and all those years you didn't have anxiety. I had to learn to love myself again. I got so focused on how I'm feeling every moment and forgot who I was, how many amazing things I'd accomplished and how many people love me. I forgot how to laugh. It takes practice but laughing, I mean truly laughing again has done wonders for my thoughts. Write down what you're thankful for and what you've accomplished that makes you proud. It will pass sooner than you think. Best wishes, Dnel82!
