I sometimes worry what will happen to my pet should anything happen to me. I have made arrangements but still worry especially with the cost as she gets older.

Pet definitely have their place as an alternative therapy support system. I survived a traumatic brain injury that has removed me from my previous career as a correctional nurse but has opened up the door to holistic care. I have a service dog for my PTSD/Anxiety/Irrational fear of public places and people that I developed with my frontal and occipital brain injury. I would get physically ill any time and had to go to the store or just for a ride in the car. But with Mr. Pants (that's his name) I do much better. Cat's are great. But definitely look into it more, there are tons of articles out there that illustrate just what an impact an animal can have on someone's health and well-being.
