Hi so things were finally looking up I had been offered a permanent job at place I been doing covet work for and was trying so desperately to have 100/percent attendance despite feeling so unwell lately

I went to drs and was rushed to a and e having high heart rate 140 .they did blood test ECG chest xray loafs off drips and in the end the Dr said I have a chest infection which I can go home if my heart rate goes back down.which did after drip.hr said I have to stay off work but if i rest take antibitiocs and fluids I should be fine in six days or I will be sent back and be admitted to a ward. I have had to take two days off due to this as we ain't open over easter and so worried this time off will jepordise role they offered me.I aint had a contract yet

I'm sorry to hear this. But try to let this go...you can't change what they decide at work, but you do have to take care of yourself. You aren't in control of your missed 2 days, just be thankful that the holidays following AREN'T your fault...everyone will be off. Try to let this issue go because it's out of your control and you need to focus on getting better. Do a great job of following doctor's orders so you won't miss any days after these 2. I can't help but think that the diagnosis from the doctor that you bring to a supervisor should more than compensate for the extra 2 days off.

I know what you mean. It would be frustrating if they do that but you couldn't know ahead of time and felt you needed to be at work, right?

I can imagine your concerns in this difficult situation, sounds like you've put so much effort into getting the job, but your health is more important, and it's better to take the doctors advice to get well rather than push yourself into work, you could be well again in a week, whereas if you carry on going to work you'd be off longer if admitted to hospital, if you explain to your new boss in detail what the doctor has said and try and explain how worried you are that it's going to affect your new position (could also sneak in a little reminder of how much you've done to get the job) then they'd have to be pretty heartless to dismiss you for the sake of a week or so off with genuine illness, you are more important than any job, put yourself first and look after your health, no amount of worry will change an outcome, you get the rest you need :-) xxxxx
