Therapy?

It may seem stupid. It did to me at first. Thought it was a waste of time. But if you find a good therapist they can give you awesome techniques for dealing with anxiety.

Can you do something to occupy your brain? Play a game, watch a movie, do a crossword puzzle or something. Look up mindfullness exercises.

Don't give up on yourself. Maybe you need a different med combo. Whatever you do, don't let anxiety win!🙂

Hi anthony i wouldnt say your a quitter but just someone who is unsure of how he can learn to love himself enough to find true happiness please take the time to have a look at yourself and make the changes needed to improve your health !

I felt that too we always do even normal people do , anxiety goes away with time , read about all the people that had it and went away , 90% and more did , and the other 10% cope living with it , people who have a physical illness and mental illness delt with it , i thought i would die before 2018 and look where i am now , your brain is playing tricks these are the hormones not you ! See how you used to live before this you will be back like that and even stronger , you think successful people didnt have mental illness search about them , most of them had severe mental illness and look where they are now so dont say this to your self your awsome and this is just a hormone who is doing this to you ! Do something new in your life that helps taking the thoughts away ❤️ Good luck

Don’t ever give up! There is always something else. It gets hard, that’s why we’re here. Sometimes my anxiety feels like RLS to the point that I want to quit, but God carries me through. Of course I also have Klonopin and pain meds to help. I also take melatonin and Benadryl. These help to sleep. Good luck and God bless.

They put me on a bp med today cause my bp was high now I’m even more scared

Hi, I want to tell you that you should buy a BP monitor and take your bp readings when you're at home, calm and relaxed. When I'm at the Dr office, I get really high readings and yet at home the reading is normal. Just in case you take meds but might not need to.

Hi Anthonysnervous7, try not to restrict yourself in age groups. Anxiety is anxiety no matter what age, man or woman. The symptoms are the same. I was put on b/p medication 5 years ago. My blood pressure had gotten high because of my anxiety. Little did I know that the b/p med would also address my anxiety. Try not to fear the higher pressure. Once you calm down, your pressure will reflect it. You are young so you won't always have to be on medication. Learning other methods to reduce your stress levels will automatically work in reducing your anxiety and blood pressure reading.

I literally can bring down the high numbers of my pressure when over stressed by using meditation and deep breathing. I'm talking significant lowering of the numbers. It's amazing what our minds are capable of doing.

Medication and therapy are sometimes warranted for anxiety but know that the best results will come from what you can do to approach your anxiety. I no longer fear it when it tries to make it's presence known. I continue with what I'm doing, start deep breathing and if need be, yell at it to "leave me alone". Hearing those words out loud seem to take the anxiety down several notches. It like shocks the brain back to us being in control.

Anthony, this will all pass in time. The forum can teach you a lot of little tricks we all have used over time. Whatever works for you, is the right thing to do. We are all different in what we respond to. So never lose faith in that you won't get well. It's not about if you'll get better but WHEN you will get better. Keep Strong x

I can’t sleep I think the new bp med has me worried lots of stuff about high potassium or losing too much water

Hi Anthony, your doctor knows what is best for you according to your health history. He will fine tune the dosage to fit your needs. Try not to worry about things that "may" happen. Live in the present moment. Believe in that the medication will help you. Keep in touch with your doctor and you will be fine. I wish you well on the med.

The bp Med is called cozaar 25 mg tab which is low dose

Agora1 profile image
Agora1 in reply to Anthonysnervous7

Anthony, 25mg tab of Cozaar is a low dose. Your doctor will adjust it according to your response. Try to relax and work with the medication. When we worry, we fight the med that is there to help us. We are here on the forum to support you.

I'm so very sorry Anthony. Several years ago, I had to do the same thing with my German Shepherd because of Cancer. It's the hardest thing I ever had to do. I so understand how you are hurting right now. I'm glad you told us, sometimes it helps to share our sorrow.

Hi :) I know how you feel, it's tough. It will get better, they're may be a few bumps along the way like me right now. But it does get better. I was on mess and stopped like an idiot. I'm back on them now, and I have a great psychologist.

Hey Anthony, I'm new to the site. Not a lot of men on here I notice, so its good that maybe we can help each other out since we're both strong men right lol along with everyone else's support. Probably good to have a guys advice at times, I think. I have GAD OCD PTSD and severe depression. I fought that battle for 3 months before I got on Paroxetine in 2016. I first tried Prozac and like you with some of your meds, my body couldn't handle it... I almost gave up. And then I tried Paroxetine. My only regret was waiting three months to take it! Maybe there's something else out there for you? I really was going to commit myself, but my psychologist said why? and said I don't belong in there, that I just needed therapy and to find a way to enjoy my life, yeah easier said than done. I'm just giving you a little back story about me so you know I'm experienced with similar feelings you may have, so maybe that will ease your mind a little with knowing you aren't alone.
