Scared of going to sleep.

I made myself extra anxious (if that makes sense) to not go to sleep.

Been dealing with insomnia since July and I am afraid of suffering the effects from it.

What's keeping me awake is that I have a fear of seizures. In life I never experienced one and I don't want to. But I did heard that it can trigger one which I am afraid of.

But lately I have experienced dizziness and feel like fainting but not, tension headaches, shortness of breath and the panic attacks. This is hard and I apologise for driving you all crazy with this.

Hi, a little confused. What are you afraid will trigger seizures?

I've been staying up and anxious about having a seizure or getting one from staying up. 😔

Sorry, you are not sleeping well. As you have the insomnia issue for months, you must have been sleeping some of the time. Many US people suffer from insomnia. Many. Lack of sleep is not going to cause a seizure. Eventually, your body and brain will make you sleep because they are tired.

Sometimes I will go 2 nights without sleep due to being distracted from my bedtime routine, I simply won't sleep....like tonight when a relative's plane was several hours late. Around midnight, everyone else went to sleep....but me. IT's 3:45 a.m. and the cat is keeping me company. I'll get tired enough and then I'll try to get in some sleep.

You're ok, let your body and mind get the sleep they need. Really don't know where you read or were told you that lack of sleep can cause a seizure....never heard of that before. Get so rest, ok? :)

I use to think that very same thing 5 years ago and then I got help from a cognitive behavioral therapist. She would help me understand that it wasn’t true and to just try and sleep. I took melatonin because I would literally be up all night constantly worrying. I still take melatonin to help me sleep because I have racing thoughts 24/7.
