Does anyone have these headaches ?

I wake in morning and have just a very slight nigling pain on left side forehead . I get up feed dogs and go to sit on toilet and my head throbs with horrific pain . And no I haven’t even started to use the toilet .

But what I have been doing is taking 2 pain killers before I get up at least half an hour and it doesn’t happen ??

I was told tension headaches ? But I’m thinking allergies / sinus/ tension ??

Just want people’s thoughts or experiences please

Hi Jodz, the pain you experience every day brings back memories of my chronic headache years. If it wasn't a tension headache, it was a migraine. I was never free of pain. I saved my pain medication for the migraines. Once you start using a pain reliever every day, you will get rebound headaches as well as the med not working any more.

I remember all too well getting that one sided pain, mine was on the right side of forehead. Although the pain was coming from a trigger point of spasm knots in my upper shoulder. Physical therapy helped release the muscle knot which in turn took away the one sided head pain. I tried hot paks, cold paks but nothing really worked in reducing that constant pain. The PTs used Acupressure.

If it were more related to sinus or allergies, I think you would have pain more in the center of your forehead above the bridge of your nose. Always best to get it checked out. Either a Neurologist or Rheumatologist, they deal in chronic pain. Hope you find a way to get some pain relief. xx

Thanx Agora 1 just not sure what it is . But when the wind blows hard my sinus pressure points really play up . It’s the massive painful throbbing when I first get up that’s not making sense ? Just don’t know what it is ??

Drs thinking sleep apnea ? But said tension headaches but why morning the worst ??

Feeling ordinary ATM 😗

The thing is Jodz, you know that the cortisol levels are so high in the morning that any symptoms we have are at their peak. Although if it is a sinus problem, it could be worse in the morning because of the position you are in all night lying down. Once you are up for a while, the sinuses have a chance to drain allowing the pressure to lessen.

All these are just speculations... Maybe an allergist needs to be called in. I'm sorry you are experiencing this every morning. I hope you get some answers. xx

Indigojoe, That's so true that getting a new pillow can help with headaches and neck pain. I swear by my Kawasaki Pillow, for me it works in relieving the tight tense muscles in the neck which play a big part of chronic headaches.

Thanks for mentioning that. x Hope you are well

Yes changed pillows twice and no difference . Even bought a new mattress 2 weeks ago .

That's disheartening Jodz. I bought a new mattress 1 year ago and it is giving me more body pain than the old one. A mattress isn't something to toss and repurchase but possibly you can check out the different pillows available for a person with chronic pain. The are pillows that can be refrigerated if that is your thing in reducing pain. I would wait until you see your doctor. He may order a sleep study and that doctor may be able to give you more insight as to what you need. If it's sleep apnea, I don't know if the pillow will make the difference as much as the CPAP.

One step at a time or you can make yourself more anxious by reaching out in too many directions. x

Could be a few different reasons, bad bed or old bed, tonsils cause you to snore which could sometimes cause sleep apnea which causes that drowsy feeling in the AM which also includes a head ache, could be the way you slept the time you finally passed out could be lack of water lack of food so many reasons a sleep study would be perfect to determine the root cause you could do them on your own or pay for someone to do it

Maybe low blood sugar. Have some protein before you go to bed to stabilise your blood sugars.
