My attempt at help

Many of you have reached out to offer assistance. Jeff1943, Agora, etc. Its made a huge impact. At their suggestion I’ve now read a few books. I wanted to offer another one for you to read if you can. It’s called DARE the new way to end anxiety and stop panic attacks. I’m only a few chapters in, but the advice offered in those chapters has helped me immensely. It breaks it down to very simple, easy to follow steps. I feel a tremendous benefit and wanted to share for anyone out there suffering, to check it out. I think it will help.

Christory77, I agree, DARE is an excellent book. We take from everything we learn along the way and tailor make it for ourselves. Whatever works, there is no right or wrong. :)

It’s a really good book. It’s not completely scientific. So the approach is slightly easier to follow. Let me know what you think about it.

Hello. You may consider asking your doctor about the possibility of trying buspirone. I have been on it for twenty years. It has been a lifesaver. I had a bad experience with citalopram (Celexa), which I was also on for seven years. I was taken off it cold-turkey by an idiotic physician's assistant, who I believed to be an actual doctor. Patients need to be slowly weaned off of it. I am in my 70's and I could have suffered a stroke by sudden withdrawal from the citalopram. My withdrawal took the better part of two weeks, in which I suffered greatly from spasms, swollen tongue, crying jags, sensitivity to light, smell, and sound. I thought that I might die. It was just awful. I felt good on it for about seven years, but then this medication turned its ugly wrath on me. It wasn't a good experience. Buspirone has the least amount of side effects of all the anxiety medicines. I need to look up those books that you are reading. Hope you feel better soon.
