Heart worries!

I’m scared my doctor just rang me and said that she’s referring me to a neurologist because I’ve been having some issues with tingling then my heart rate goes up and then I feel shaky. It’s not blood sugars as I’ve been tested and ruled out for that.

But now she has said it could be my heart causing it 😞

I didn’t feel like it was because my heart is still regular it just feels a bit faster when i have these episodes but now I’m scared to death all over again

Anxiety can cause this it really can but because you are worried and been to the Doctors they have a job to do and that is to double check that it is anxiety only causing your problems and it is a positive that they are sending you to be checked out not a negative and you will then be reassured which hopefully will help

She no doubt deep down believes it will not be your heart but imagine if a patient complained and they did not follow it up it would be more than their job was worth !

I hope you get an appointment asp but believe me over the years I have read so many posts with members worrying over their heart , having monitors on for 24/48 hours and all come back saying it is anxiety and you are so young the chances of it been anything else are sooo slim

I know it is easy for someone to say don't worry but try not to if she really thought it was life threatening she would have been sending you up there today not waiting for them to give you an appointment , she seems like a good doctor getting your physical health checked out for you

Thankyou so much. I feel a little less worried now! I did have a 24 hour ECG which showed nothing back in September. Also have an echocardiogram coming up but that’s just to check my joint hypermobility hasn’t affected my heart valves which they don’t think it has anyway my rheumatologist just wanted to check! I am hoping these episodes aren’t heart related I will let you know how I go on! Thankyou!

Well I am not a Doctor but I would put a bet on your heart will be fine

Try to do some relaxation exercises , lots of them on You Tube

Remember that all these tests are routine and thousands of people have them done all the time and they are fine and there is no reason why you won't be other than your anxiety making the most of keeping a hold of you knowing how you are fearing at the moment , but it will all come good again soon especially when you have been reassured x

I agree with lulu, doesn't seem to be a heart problem at all, the doc is just exploring all the possibilities, but after the tests you mention then if there was anything heart related they'd have found something by now.

Anyway you've been referred to a neurologist which is to do with the nervous system not a cardiologist which is heart. So chill out, it will all get sorted and you'll be fine.
