You are describing my exact panic attack symptoms. It will pass, you just have to push through!

And then do you go to the toilet?

Yep, my panic attacks usually lead me to stomach issues. It's very normal, but honestly, quite a pain. I'm not sure how to stop it - still working through those issues myself. Wish I could help more :/

Have you been checked by the doctor?

Yes, I've been to a psychiatrist and she said that's a very common symptom of anxiety. I will say, however, that I've recently had other health issues that have brought up concerns with doctors of things like IBS or IBD, but those can also be caused by stress as I've found out.

Hello Neberg

Yes all your symptoms are very similar. I go very hot and cold and my hands skate as for the toilet it sounds like it could be Ibs as it can be set off by stress.

But are you not alone it's scary but you can get through it.

Take care

Xx

IBS is a dreadful thing, I get it almost every 4 days...always wake up with a facial flushing....and at least 5 times a day....bright red face, I creased heartbeat, panicky........anxiety or maybe hormonal.....or gastric...or...I do t know.....I have got Heamachromatosis so maybe it's linked ( a condition only diagnosed by having a Ferritin blood test)

Most people can filter out any unwanted iron from the blood stream, but in GH this isn't possible so the iron collects in the vital organs..liver, spleen kidneys, brain, joints....causing destruction....

It is easily treatable so if you suffer symptoms of : stomach pain/ hair loss/joint pain/ headaches/tiredness/loss of sex drive........ask your ?GP for a Ferritin test...you have to ask as it isn't routine:IT SHOULD BE AS IT IS MAINLY AN INHERITED CONDITION and there are thousands walking around with no idea that they are a walking time bomb.

Lucky for me my son was diagnosed so I had to be tested...a bit late...it has already given me early cirrhosis of the liver.

If your GP doesn't take you seriously...CHANGE.

I had these exact symptoms last night. Woke up out of a sound sleep. Intense and scarey and haven't had that in a long time. and no apparent reason.

Yes they can be. Maybe have your thyroid checked. Those symptoms could be signs of thyroid dysfunction as well, particularly hyperthyroidism.

Yes all part of fight or flight They are all the symptoms of panic and yes need to go to the toilet too Thats all part of it It's horrible isnt it but they do pass if you let them and don't fight it hard I know I've been quite bad lately but I've found that tensing and letting go has really helped me As soon as I feel the panic rising I tense my muscles by pushing my feet as hard as I can into the floor and then just let it all go I keep doing it and find it relaxes me so much I had to sit in the front row right in the middle at a school event the other morning no chance of escape so I did the tensing and letting go and it worked and I couldn't have cared less that I was trapped and had a lovely time Before I went my anxiety was sky high

The DARE response book by Barry McDonagh is great and lots of lovely relaxation videos on YouTube

All the best

You should go get checked out by your GP to rule out any other possible health problems

See your GP .....might be thyroid....might be panic attack....but you need to know so that you don't sit there worrying yourself unnecessarily .......

If you know what it is you can deal with it....good luck.

Meanwhile do something to take your mind off it.

Go for long walks....read a good book....join a club....paint a picture..,a cupboard...a wall...

I never went into a full panic attack but i live with constant anxiety, i sweat, loose concentration become irritable, i can hear my heart beating so loud, the anxiety levels fluctuate during the day but it never goes away, i fear everything to the point im scared to close any of my blinds, i become claustrophobic i need to see that the world still goes on even tho i feel my world is closing in on me, i go to bed scared, dream im scared then wake up scared, i feel sick and during a really bad spell i lost 11lb in 2 weeks, iv spoke with my doctor and im now on medication with monthly reviews, it's a horrible disease which ppl who dnt understand dont take seriously, hope u feel better soon x

Aazz, it has been said that the stomach is the most sympathetic part of thebody when it comes to reacting to stress and anxiety, nausea can be simply treated with ginger: buy some fresh ginger and slice it very thinly and then let it brew in a mug of hot water for 10 minutes before drinking it. In a different context, some research found that ginger was more effective than meds in combatting the feeling of sickness that people undergoing chemotherapy experience. For Irritable Bowel Syndrome which somebody else mentioned 500mg peppermint capsules are an effective alternative to meds. Your other symptoms are all classic symptoms of anxiety (but as others say do confirm this by visiting your doctor which will give you reassurance) but I don't think you're having panic attacks. A good self help book like Claire Weekes' 'Self help with your nerves' and published in the U.S. as 'Hope and help with your nerves' is well worth reading as it contains a well tried, well proven method for combatting the physical symptoms of anxiety as you describe.

Yes, I didn't get nausea but I did get cold feeling and my legs trembling nonstop and fast heart beat. It feels like your dying but it's all in our head. I've learned to control it by knowing nothing is wrong and I'm perfectly healthy and it's all in our head.
