Yes, this is one of my main anxiety symptoms. I know this sounds simplistic, but just try to ignore it. Also cut back on caffeine (if that applies to you), and make sure you get adequate sleep every night. My finger and eyelid twitches get bad if I don't sleep at least 7 hours a night.

Thank you it's so scary it's been happening on and off for 2 months now ( more so when I don't get enough sleep) I feel like I'm not drinking enough either? It's just the amount of illnesses it is related to but makes sense with anxiety if nerves are always on edge. ( my pinkey finger , eye , lip and now my actual arm lol) it alternates

Having one of those nights where I'm sure I'm badly ill and ending up thinking if i die I die

Man just the thought of sleep for atleast 7 hours. I haven't had a decent night sleep like that literally in months. The closest I've come is maybe 3 hours straight and then I'm up out my sleep by this stupid anxiety. I'm truly sleep deprived. I'm surprised I'm not twitchin from head to toe right now.

I know what you mean. It's so bad it's times I try and lie there as long as possible trying to make myself sleep. Still don't work. I'm so desperate for sleep. I was crying yesterday to my boyfriend because I was also having head pressure, dull headaches, dizziness and I kept asking him so this can't be normal, should I not go to a doctor about this? First thing he says, how much sleep did you get. He basically said why waist time going to the doc for them to probably not do what you want. You already know you haven't been getting good rest for months now. You just need to focus on getting some sleep and that might stop the headaches. How would you know if that's not the problem if you not getting any sleep. But I think he's right in many ways. It's still just hard to believe it has all gotten to this point and anxiety is the root.

I definitely agree with him when our bodies are deprived of sleepni think it create illnesses sleep gives our bodies times to recover and when we dnt sleep it makes it harder for our bodies to be relaxed if u understand what i mean i hope im making sense lol

Oh I completely understand it. That's why I get so frustrated that I can't even do something simple as go to sleep. I can't believe all before this happened I use to sleep with no problems, at the drop of a dime, all day if I wanted to. Now I struggle big time on top of being scared to take some time of sleep aids to help me sleep.

I read that u tried chamomile how did that work for u it helps me but my problem is not going to sleep its staying asleep no matter what i always wake up in the middle of the night and then i would have panic attacks sometimes.

Well I haven't been consistently drinking it to say if it helps. But one time before I wanna say, I did get like a relaxing feeling afterwards that helped. But I have the same problem too. I can't stay sleep. I keep waking up. Sometimes with panic symptoms and sometimes from dreams and then I have a hard time going back to sleep. But I struggle with falling asleep sometimes too.

Hello again 😊. But u like it does. I'm lying in bed right now having twitches and trying to ignore it. 😧 CAN'T THOUGH. Just finishing drinking some Yogi sleep time tea. I see is has organic chamomile powder ingredients and I've heard many on this forum mentioned chamomile so I hope this will relax my mind so I can get some rest because I am truly sleep deprived.

I meant to say, but I like to think it does.

Yes relaxing tea has helped me a lot. I drink the Sleepytime brand from Celestial Seasonings (2 tea bags). But yes I know all about messed up sleep cycle: sleep 3 hours, wake up, get upset, lay awake for an hour, maybe fall back asleep for an hour, have crazy dreams, wake back up... you get the idea. And doing that for months on end made me physically ill. Stomach problems, acid reflux, chest pains, muscle twitches so bad I thought I had MS, blurred vision, shortness of breath - I could go on. My newest scary symptom is hives... sigh. But after a year of doctors running all sorts of test and all of them coming back negative, I have finally accepted I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I will not let GAD win - I will get back to being the old me no matter what it takes. Stay positive - we will all beat this thing.

Wow this is exactly what I've experienced. It probably has definitely made me physically ill. Because I know all before this came on me. I never had headache issues, dull headaches, blurred vision, twitches, and the list goes on. Atleast not as bad and if I did have all this, I never payed it no attention. So do you only take the tea before bed or do you take whenever you just want to be relaxed?

Ty2020 profile image
Ty2020 in reply to Icanbeathis2016

I drink the tea whenever I want to relax, but mainly just before bed. During the day I drink a lavender tea because it's relaxing but doesn't make me tired while at work. I've tried to drink more tea as opposed to more beer and wine to combat my anxiety because, well, I tend to go overboard with the alcohol - LOL. Plus side to all of this has been I've lost about 20lbs and this has helped to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle (exercising, eating better, etc).

Icanbeathis2016 profile image
Icanbeathis2016 in reply to Ty2020

Now see I can agree with the weight loss being a plus if for me I hadn't been already losing weight before this anxiety kicked in. So for me I lost an additional 20 pounds unintentionally which caused more physical harm and damage to my body, mind, etc. It's like if I knew I was gonna lose 20 pounds from this I would have never started a while ago going to the gym and working out. I would've waited on this 😕. So in a nut shell instead of just losing thus 20 lbs I ended up losing like 30 total in 5 months which I was never that big to end up losing this much weight. Now people who see me that hadn't saw me for a few months probably think I'm sick with something.

Ty2020 in reply to Icanbeathis2016

Oh yikes, I understand. Yeah for me I could stand to lose much more. But you are right, losing it because of anxiety is the absolute wrong way to do it :-( There was a point where I just couldn't eat more than about 1000 calories a day, which is not nearly enough for me. I now track my calories using MyFitnessPal so I make sure I stay within a healthy range. Have you tried drinking protein shakes? That was something I could force myself to eat (drink) when I didn't have much of an appetite.

Hello

If not already talk to your GP, this seems like Anxiety, I understand your Practice may be able to help

You could try Relaxation Techniques, Mindfulness is a life changing system I understand.

Talk to your GP and some CBT may be on offer, also other coping techniques

You may be experiencing what is called "benign fasciculation syndrome". I have had it for seven years since my first anxiety breakdown. Everything you want to know about it is here:

aboutbfs.com/faqgeneral.htm

You are OK. Nothing is wrong with you it's just your body reacting to the anxiety.

Read through the forums as well. This really is nothing more than a nuisance if this is what you are experiencing.
