Effexor or buspirone or neither??

Who has experience with medication? what worked and what didn't work for you? I also have the option of St johns wort... I don't know which route to go and am terrified of all of them especially after a bad experience with Zoloft. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... thanks

Unfortunately with the meds they all react differently to different people I was prescribed the buspirone tried it for about 6 weeks it definitely was not the Med for me I don't really suffer much depression - more anxiety and panic and that just did not work for me I have found that lexapro seems to be the one that works for me I also believe that talk therapy exercise some deep muscle relaxation breathing techniques and just reminding yourself that this panic and anxiety is not going to harm you or hurt you. Hi tdawgg, I have been on Effexor for six weeks and have had to reduce them to come off them the side effects were far to much for me to carry on taking them, coming off them is just as bad, they do work for some people but definitely not for for me, worst Iv ever been on, going to see A specialist on Thursday to see what is going to work for me, Good luck I know how hard it is I'm going though the same worries myself, the side effects are so bad when stating you wanted get the one that works good luck let me know how you get on Xx

ugh yes very frustrating. I never had high hopes for it. I have already tried cipralex and Zoloft and had terrible terrible symptom with both. Barely lasted a week on either. I have also been prescribed buspirone but haven't filled that one yet was going to give the Effexor a try first but haven't heard much good about it which makes me even more nervous to take it. I just might try my St Johns wort to start with but have heard even that can make anxiety worse. Anything would be such a relief right now.

Please please don't go on Effexor Iv been on many antidpressant over twenty eight years and never been through side effects like them people on here advised me to come off as soon as possible because coming off them was even worse, pleaee try anything but this I would want any one to go though what IV been though on them, please god on Thursday I get one that's not weight gaining and works m, good luck let me know how you get on x
