Well because I have been unwell for weeks the doctor said its anxiety he put me on escitalopram I tablet which I started yesterday so I no it takes time to work but don't no why I feel so crap

Do you feel you are suffering with anxiety ?

If you have just been put on medication they can take several weeks before they make you feel any better and in some cases some people can feel worse before this happens

Keep talking on here and people will try and share their experiences which can in a small way help to know you are not alone x

Well it started off with my blood pressure being high now it's gone back to normal but I stopped a temzpam sleeping tablet after 12 years so I could have the withdrawal system's I have had blood tests which has come back normal but awaiting for thyroid test as my neck gets tight and dry mouth this is why my doctor thinks it's anxiety ?

Well I have to agree with you on the fact if you have been taking sleeping tablets for the length of time you have they will have been relaxing you and you could very well get withdrawal symptoms for a while , from what you are saying they seemed to have maybe jumped the gun a little bit

Your Blood pressure going up is not exactly a sign you have anxiety as it has now gone down again but this is just my thoughts on it I am not a Doctor

Sometimes some and not all can be quick to diagnose anxiety or Depression give tablets as again just my opinion it can be quick and easy personally I don't always agree with that method as it can be down to something else like possibly coming of another med making you feel anxious

Did you suffer with anxiety before or has this come on since stopping the the sleeping tablets ?

If you are not happy and really feel unsure about your diagnosis I would either go back and talk to the Doctor that prescribed the meds or see another Doctor in the same surgery that may have a different view that could be more helpful to you x

Well the doctor has put me back on the sleeping tablets and no never had anxiety before I just want to start feeling better

U will give this med time to work I was on it for 10 years just got changed tho as I became intolerant and they cudnt increase it anymore so Iv had a crap year all stemming from a thyroid condition wait and see wat that shows and keep talking and updating x
