Hello everyone! ! So im getting my MRI after 3 attempts lol. They are going to put me under since I can't do it awake. So my question to y'all is has anyone been put under to get an MRI and do u suggest it?? I really need to get this done and I haven't been able to. My doctor wanted this done in April. R hanks in advance. !!

I have not been put under for an MRI scan but I have been for other minor procedures

It should be only a mild sedative they give you and you will not be out for long at all & when we suffer with anxiety I think if we cannot cope awake this is the best thing you are doing

You will finally get this scan done & then hopefully you will get peace of mind

Not happened to me and I have had several scans.

The problem people have is the noise of the magnets, machine and the confined space.

Even without the frame over the head the worry of confined spaces make many unhappy having them done.

One other problem is staying still for an extended period of time.

We are all different, what worries one will not upset some one else

Good luck with the scan, take a CD or tape with you with music you like, they may play it for you so the noise is not invasive. Some clinics have a selection of music to play.

The new MRI machines are mostly glass/see through... have you seen the one you will be using? Anyway...one thing good: they don't 'hurt' or cause pain! and it might help to tell yourself and/or think about how GOOD you will feel after its all over! I'm glad your dr is patient with you (like mine is with me! ) I like Bob's idea about being able to listen to a tape or CD. Maybe have another heart to heart talk with your Dr. Good luck to you!! keep us posted!
