Hello everyone!

I have been taking Fluoxetine 20mg capsules (I think it's a type of Prozac) for the past 4/5 weeks after my doctor prescribed them for me and I must say that I feel they are working (the come down from coming off of them sucks but in the longterm it is worth it) it may be worth popping to see your own GP to see if they could prescribe you something like that. I'm on a 6 month course and already I have noticed a huge difference, I now have the will power and motivation to try more, before I was taking them I was in a state where I couldn't even go out for an hour without feeling dizzy or like I was going to have a panic attack but since I have been on these tablets, I can now manage a lot longer, I have been going out more on weekends and enjoying myself - I now think more positively when I am out, am able to push myself to do things for longer, can concentrate more and I am also laughing a lot more and feel happier in myself. I still get the odd day where I feel down in the dumps and feel like absolute rubbish but I have even been managing to pull through those days and keep myself busy. My work attendance is better and I haven't had a single day off since I have had these tablets. (It is important that you do not take these tablets without a prescription as they can cause addiction and need to be monitored through regular check-ups with your GP). Also I would recommend keeping an anxiety diary - to note anything you think may help such as advice on self help and coping techniques/mechanisms and also to note your achievements throughout your anxiety journey, no matter how big or small they may be. Keep a hobby/hobbies - mine are book writing, reading, listening to music and walking the dogs. Also rescue remedy pastilles, spray or or drops along. A tablet called 5HTP has also helped slightly, however I do not take these with my Fluoxetine - Check with your GP before mixing any tablets etc. I really hope that this can help people like me and show you that you CAN and WILL get through your journey, it will be a long and difficult process but believe me, I never thought I could do it and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I wish you all good luck! :) You are strong! You CAN do this! :)
