Has anyone tried the NUCCA chiropractic approach? just the upper neck, not the lower spine or anywhere else. Started my first week and I almost feel more anxiety. Just curious as to everyone else.
Nucca Chiro: Has anyone tried the NUCCA... - Anxiety Support

Your body isn't used to being aligned correctly yet. It may take a weekly treatment for a month or longer to see the best results. Usually after a few sessions you should stay adjusted for longer periods of time and require less. My family has been getting these treatments for about 3 years. Even my teenage son enjoys and gets benifit from them. Occasionally my wife will get a headache after adjustments but over time the frequency and duration has nearly gone away entirely. You might want to mention the stress to them on your next visit or give them a call. However, I would guess it is just a side effect of being out of alignment and will disappear.
I don't mean to be the Debbi Downer...however if they are manipulating, twisting, "cracking-adjusting" your neck.....PLEASE STAY AWAY. It's different if they don't do this and use a little instrument that makes a "pop pop" sound as they put it towards trigger points. I'm sorry i did not get to read up on NUCCA method as I'm running out(but will). You can easily look up "chiro neck manipulation and strokes" on the internet and find yourself a ton of info. This hits close to home for me as i have a close family friend who was left a quadriplegic after such treatments. With our issues of vasculitis, increased chance of strokes/aneurysms......i would read up on the safety aspect. I apologize if i got it all wrong- if NUCCA does not use the neck manipulation techniques.
Good luck-Gen
Good to know! What i tried to look up this afternoon did not have any description of the treatments (how they do it-only found why they do it). For me as a health practitioner, manipulation of the neck/ cervical spine area is a no-no when small tears can occur, trauma to arteries, etc. Especially to a vulnerable population who are at risk for strokes/aneurysms,etc. As long as people are well informed. Scary to see people coming out as quadraplegics or stroked- obviously a worst case scenario, but certainly hits home when it's people you know! I will continue to research that NUCCA method- thanks for filling me in!
