I am not a sporty person but I have had those feelings before where I have been doing something & even though I may have done it a thousand times it feels like the first time I have ever done it before , maybe for me it can be when I am cooking a meal & then I am surprised at how well it turns out
Maybe when you are playing sport you feel relaxed & when most of the time we are living with the feelings of anxiety we are not used to that relaxed feeling & so then it feels strange as you describe
I would enjoy your basketball & not worry about how you feel , as long as you enjoy the sport

Hi, I am having CBT for my anxiety states at the moment. I had some information about breathing- When you are anxious you tend to take shallower and more frequent breaths. This increases the amount carbon dioxide levels in your body. They say that can increase anxiety. On the other hand you may be breathing better when playing basketball which gets more oxygen into your body. Hence you feel less anxious? I don't know. However, you have definitely made me want to take up if not basketball then another sport, myself. Enjoy it!
