HI Mic x Yes this is one of the more common effects of anxiety I have heard mentioned x There are a few ways to describe the actual feeling from butterflies to flipping fish in your chest to mice scurrying around but its all the same feeling, the rush you describe is the adrenalin when you become fearful your body prepares for flight/fight and then adrenalin rushes the blood supply around to make you ready to defend, this is turn causes that feeling you say x I hope this helps x Donver x

It's ok:) I guess that's the only way forward! If I constantly think I got somet like lung cancer or somet, my mind tells me I have it and then I start lookin for silly little symtoms. It's rediculous and no one understands unless they are going through it there self :/ has it got better or have u got more symptoms?x

Hi Beth! Probably a little late on this response lol. But what you have is called hypochondria, it is also called health anxiety. I myself have this as well and it can be debilitating. Nobody can Truely understand how we feel. As hypochondriacs we are more focused on our body, we notice every twitch, every sound, every pulse, ect. Even though deep down we know it's just anxiety there's a small portion that convinces us that we may actually have a serious problem. In my case I can't take my mind off of it on my own and I either need to play video games or somebody else to distract me. In my opinion I don't believe we can Truely get better besides distracting ourselves, mainly because it's always going to be in the back of our head in the end. But we can benefit eachother by talking about it and learning from others on how they cope
