You might be right in that it might be time to start looking elsewhere. My anxiety and stress is totally linked to my job; the people, the amount of work, the pressure, the travel and actually the job itself - I'm a black and white kind of person and my work is very rarely black and white, more like a million shades of grey!

In the end, even though I was feeling really low and I didn't have much confidence, I started to look for something else. I was rejected a couple of times which was really hard but then I found a job that I really, really wanted and I actually got it :) I still can't believe it sometimes!

The relief of getting the job was so immense I can't even describe it. It felt like this massive chain around my neck, dragging my head and shoulders down and keeping me so unhappy everyday had suddently disappeared and I haven't had any symptoms of stress or anxiety since I was offered the job. Yes I still have stressful days at work but I think I deal with them by thinking I've only got x number of days left and I realise that I will have stressful times in future but I think through the experience of doing the wrong job and having done CBT I hope that I'll be able to manage them better in future.

Keep you're chin up Kirstykoo, it might not seem like it but it will get better

xx

Hi Kirstykoo.

If it is the job that is causing your anxiety and stress then I would look for alternative employment, it is very hard to cope when the cause is all around you. Try and find something you feel comfortable doing and less stressful.

Take care Kenny
