Hi

I haven't taken these meds but would strongly suggest not to stop taking them without discussing it with your GP first

After 9 weeks I would hope I was feeling a little better & again if I wasn't I would go & have a word with my GP

Sorry I cant be much more help on this one but hopefully members that have taken these will see your post & be able to tell you more how they felt on them

Love

Hi I've been on sertraline for over two years I was on 200mg but then I asked to try another anti-depression which I didn't like so I went back on sertraline I'm now on 150mg which I've been back on for about 3 months, I wish I had never came off them as I was getting on ok with them but since coming back on them I feel terrible, lot worse then before, I would suggest asking your doctor to maybe up the dose but I've tried loads of anti-depression tablets and I personally think these are the best, good luck

Hi,

I have been taking Sertraline 150 mg for as long as I can remember, and they help me a lot, maybe talk to your G.P. you may need a slightly higher dose for the time being. I hope this helps.

hi whitey, my o/h is on sertraline 75mg, but has upped it to 100mg, has taken about 6 weeks for it to kick in , so I would have thought they would be helping you to feel a little better, if you don't always have a word with your dr. all the best jasper .

I am not a psychiatrist but I have spoken in depth with about ten, and studied these issues a great deal. There is a good deal of misinformation out there, so I felt it my responsibility to help people, because I have been through these problems for years and know how terrible they can be.

If you have taken Sertraline for nine weeks, at 100 mg, not missed many doses, gotten proper sleep, and don't have a physical ailment that could be causing your symptoms or a major life problem just whacking you in the face every day, the answer is simple: DO NOT STOP TAKING THE SERTALINE.

The logical step would be to increase the dosage to 150 mg. You have given the 100 mg plenty of time to work! Stop waiting around with it. Do not stop the drug, because you may have withdrawl symptoms, which can be very bad. You have to wean off anti depressants very slowly to minimize or obviate any withdrawl you may have.

It is very, very important to realize that, should your doctor increase you to 150 mg- and it MUST be done with their consent, do not do anything on your own- it will take only 7 -10 days before you feel considerably better, although perhaps longer to be 100 percent. If you do not feel considerably better after 7 -10 days, another increase is needed. Promptly report any side effects to your doctor, and do not take these pills from anyone but a talented psychiatrist.
